Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge regarding common medications of psychiatry, including effects, side effects and clinical judgement regarding discretionary PRN usage. Greater than 3 year’s acute psychiatric nursing experience. Demonstrate excellence in communication skills through scenario questions exploration. Experience as Charge Nurse to an Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Facility.
Preferred Qualifications:Effective educational skills for patients and staff. Expert stress management techniques for personal and debrief utilization. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Skills - Alternative programming accepted with material reviewing. Indigenous cultural awareness. Master's Degree in Nursing Studies.
