Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Public Health Nursing. Experience in at least one of the following areas: Communicable Disease Control, Public Health, Infection Prevention Control or Case Management within the last 7 years. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships within the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and decision making skills. Ability to complete telephone interviews and electronic clinical documentation for extended periods of time. Demonstrated competency with computer applications to complete clinical documentation on web-based computer programs in a supported environment. Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and diligence with the ability to work in a fast paced, stressful, challenging environment. Be self-directed, action-oriented, demonstrate quick problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills. Exhibit strong time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a stressful and evolving work environment. Exhibit strong ability for attention to detail. Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Comfort working in a virtual environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience in communicable disease control and/or public health programs is preferred. Experience with contact tracing (i.e. epidemiology). Knowledge and experience in infection prevention control.
