Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Budgeting at Health Shared Services, the Senior Financial Analyst supports the detailed budgeting process and associated system (Hyperion) across all public health authorities (PHAs). This role works closely with finance teams across PHAs, as well as the Finance Systems and Information Technology teams, to ensure the budgeting process and systems are operating effectively, aligned with other finance tools, and meeting user needs.

Description:

The position requires a strong understanding of budgeting processes, along with advanced skills in budget reconciliation and reporting. In addition to supporting core budgeting activities, the Senior Financial Analyst contributes to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Hyperion system, including system improvements, data analysis, and user acceptance testing. Key responsibilities include: Working collaboratively with finance teams and PHAs to support budget timelines, processes, system testing, and related technology requirements. Providing guidance and support to stakeholders on budget uploads, reconciliations, and reporting. Developing and maintaining training materials and supporting users on budgeting processes and systems. Supporting the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of budgeting systems, including identifying opportunities for process and system improvements. Assisting with system testing, development activities, and production support.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 years in an accounting, financial planning, or financial advisory role. A strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with others. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and solve problems with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in an ambiguous environment, including having strong time management and organizational skills. A minimum of 3 years in an accounting, financial planning, or financial advisory role. A strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with others. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and solve problems with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in an ambiguous environment, including having strong time management and organizational skills. A strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a professional accounting designation. Experience working with Hyperion and Oracle GL or similar systems. Experience in an organization of similar size and complexity. Experience in a healthcare environment.
