Your Opportunity:

The Revenue Department (Research Support Team) has an opportunity for an Administrative Support V temporary position for one year. As the successful candidate, you will work with a diverse team of finance professionals in a busy and continually changing environment providing administrative support with the following responsibilities: research contracts review and management; providing basic business advisory support to the research community; handling payment receipts, creating journal entries, gathering data for reporting and various analyses; providing administrative support for various projects along with maintaining paper and electronic files. The position is critical for the Research Support Team making sure that all relevant documents are signed and filed; research accounts are set up and closed properly; projects are run efficiently, and reports are distributed in a timely fashion. As the Administrative Support V you will be self-directed, work under minimal supervision; must have strong communication and customer service skills; demonstrate independent decision-making, problem-solving, time management, conflict resolution skills; be adaptable in an environment with many interruptions and short timelines; show accountability and attention to detail; and demonstrate an enhanced ability to work effectively and collaboratively with various stakeholders. This position is based out of Seven Street Plaza Edmonton Finance office. Department Description: The Revenue Department ensures that revenues are accurately accounted for and reported on AHS’ financial statements. It collaborates with various stakeholders to effectively manage grants and other restricted funding in accordance with funding agreements and applicable AHS policies and legislation, and to generate incremental revenue as appropriate through the implementation of various revenue initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:

1-2 years of accounting experience. Basic experience with contracts administration or contracts review. Knowledge of MS Office products with the focus on Excel (intermediate) and Word (intermediate). Basic knowledge of administrative support, project and change management. Resourceful self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively on given tasks. Must have a positive attitude and be a strong team player. Ability to prioritize projects and tasks, work under tight deadlines, and manage frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide an excellent customer service to internal and external clients. Ability to demonstrate independent decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Great attention to details, good organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with experience in a healthcare or research organizations; those who completed a post-secondary accounting diploma or equivalent courses; and possess 1-2 years of experience with research administration.
