Your Opportunity:

The Scheduling Liaison role requires a responsible, self-motivated individual who is able to work both independently and as an integral member of our team. The Liaison provides support primary to the managers as well as the clinical nurse educator of FMC Units 71 & Unit 72, as well as to maintain primary support to unit operations. This individual will perform a wide range of Employee Scheduling and Administrative functions, while interacting with a diverse population of colleagues and the public. This will need to be carried out while showing a high degree of professionalism. Such duties include utilizing WFM to ensure unit staffing levels and correct coding, approve vacations and swaps under direction of management, support vacation planning, utilize RMS to create job requestions, connect with staff scheduling office frequently, ordering supplies and support various unit initiatives. The Scheduling Liaison must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must have administrative knowledge, be able to multi-task, and be able to work well under pressure. The incumbent will perform complex and diversified duties requiring independent judgment and confidentiality. Tasks must be completed with self-initiative, good organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment. An enthusiastic and positive attitude is essential to success in this position.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Scheduling Liaison, administrative, and unit clerk experience required 3-5 years’ experience in Scheduling Liaison or SSO staff scheduler experience required. 2-3 years of experience with WFM staff scheduling including data entry to WFM required. 2-3 years of payroll experience required Advanced understanding of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute. Experience with ordering of unit equipment and supplies for nursing units required (Oracle, Data, G&T) Computer proficiency database required. 1-2 years of proven leadership skills and conflict resolution skills required. 3-5 years’ experience in a health care environment and knowledge of hospital systems required. In Addition, the successful incumbent will be expected to: Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Must have strong analytic and critical thinking skills. Exhibit leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Awareness of AUPE AUX, AUPE GSS and UNA Collective Agreement scheduling provisions. Experience with RMS, Payroll training. Administrative experience in a health care environment.
