Administrative Support IV - Professional Billing Analyst
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Professional Billing Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of professional claims for assigned providers. This role manages daily billing workflows, ensuring claims are complete, correctly coded, and compliant with payer requirements and organizational policies. The successful candidate will join our busy Health Shared Services team supporting the billings submissions for Physicians and Nurse Practitioners across the province. You will also enjoy the flexibility to work remotely or in the office depending on your preferences. The Analyst reviews, investigates, and resolves billing discrepancies using electronic health records and billing systems, including validating clinical and insurance information and addressing rejected claims. The role includes performing reconciliations, maintaining data integrity, and supporting manual and electronic claim submissions across multiple payers. It is preferred if you have recent billing experience submitting physician or nurse practitioner billing to the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan, other Provinces/Territories, WCB Alberta, Medavie Blue Cross, self-pay claims, and third party insurance claims. Working independently and collaboratively, the Analyst manages assigned work queues, ensures deadlines are met, and supports provider onboarding and offboarding within billing systems. The position also involves identifying irregularities, applying appropriate billing processes, and liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders as needed. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, problem solving skills and effective communication, with a focus on accuracy, process adherence, and continuous workflow improvement.

Additional Required Qualifications:A combination of Grade 12 equivalency, medical billing /terminology experience will also be considered. Medical terminology certificate or courses A minimum of 3 years of medical/ healthcare professional billing experience in the last 5 years. Must be able to pass Connect Care training EUPAs (End User Proficiency Assessment’s) Experience with MS Office updating calendars, meeting invites, emails and related documentation. Timely and accurate data entry into spreadsheets. Creating and updating documentation efficiently and with high attention to detail.
