Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields.
Additional Required Qualifications:Medical Office assistant Diploma or equivalent. Medical Terminology. Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and oral. Experience working in Bed Planning and/or Admitting. Experience & demonstrated proficiency with Connect Care. Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills of 40-50 wpm required. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) and proficiency with online meeting software (Skype, Zoom, Teams etc.). Must be able to prioritize on an ongoing basis. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Demonstrated effective communication skills when dealing with staff, managers and physicians. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience at the University of Alberta Hospital. Demonstrated proficiency of Netcare. Prior experience working with the public. Client support leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image and proven ability to remain calm, courteous, and tactful at all times. Demonstrated ability to work well under stress and prioritize a heavy workload. Skilled at paying close attention to detail.
