Your Opportunity:

The Awasisak Indigenous Health Program at the Stollery Children’s Hospital is dedicated to supporting Indigenous children, youth, and families through culturally safe, respectful, and family-centered care. We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Administrative Support IV to play a vital role in enhancing the experience of Indigenous patients and families accessing both inpatient and outpatient services within Acute Care Alberta. Reporting to the Team Lead/Manager, Awasisak Indigenous Health Program, you will be a key member of a collaborative team committed to improving health outcomes and fostering meaningful connections with Indigenous communities. In this dynamic role, you will provide specialized administrative support to the program, staff, and partners. As an Administrative Support IV, you will coordinate schedules, meetings, and resources; prepare business and program documentation; process financial transactions; and support information management and reporting activities. You will also assist with staff scheduling and payroll functions, respond to operational needs, and help ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of the program. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with strong data management abilities and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. You will thrive both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, using your initiative and administrative expertise to support program goals and deliver excellent service. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential. Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2-5 years of progressively responsible administrative or equivalent experience within a healthcare setting. Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Publisher and Excel. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, cultures, traditions, and perspectives. Knowledge of the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization, residential schools, intergenerational trauma, and systemic barriers affecting Indigenous peoples in healthcare settings. Ability to demonstrate respect, sensitivity, humility, and inclusivity when working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Understanding of and appreciation for the importance of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and healing practices. Willingness to actively engage in ongoing learning and professional development related to Indigenous cultures, histories, reconciliation, and cultural safety. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusting and respectful relationships. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism principles in the workplace.
