Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Unit Manager and Program Manager, this position is responsible for managing patient information, OR Scheduling, slate building, data entry, wait list activities, aCATS, and scheduling Pre Admission clinic visits. The Clerk plays a pivotal role with the team of health care professionals optimizing the preparation of the patients towards a positive surgical experience. The Clerk will communicate effectively with surgeon’s offices and other hospital departmental staff. The Clerk will serve a very diverse patient population and work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The Clerk will utilize critical thinking skills and sound judgment in their independent and dependent functions in the provision of health care services to the general public.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion of a recognized Clerk course required. Must be proficient in medical terminology. Recent experience in an Operating Room environment. Demonstrated reliability to attend scheduled shifts. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties. Demonstrated proficient computer skills essential with current knowledge and experience with software programs such as Excel, Word, Internet, Connect Care. and Email. Demonstrated high functioning time management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions in a changing environment. Demonstrated positive and effective interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence in a team atmosphere. Demonstrated ability to adapt towards change. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Five years minimum experience as a Clerk desired. Previous experience in Preadmission Clinic and Booking Office an asset.
