When things change you change with it easily - Friendly personality with the desire to work with the public - You like helping people - You like to go “above and beyond” Reporting to the Supervisor of Administrative Services Ambulatory Care, the Administrative Support IV position is responsible for delivering high quality and quantity patient care/customer service. It is essential that in this position the representative must be able to make independent decisions that require individual and team analysis, reasoning and problem solving to meet the needs of our patients and Clinicians. The Administrative Support IV is the clerical support for the Physicians and Nurses in the Clinic environment. It is the responsibility of the Administrative Support IV to schedule patient’s appointments in an Electronic Medical Record program and process Physicians orders including coordinating appointments with other departments. Maintains regular contact with medical specialty areas (physicians, nurses, and secretaries) as needed as part of the patient care team to ensure quality appointment scheduling. As an ambassador for Ambulatory Care patients will be greeted respectfully and with empathy by the Administrative Support IV via telephone and in face to face encounters.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of grade 12 diploma or recognized equivalent required. Completion of a Unit Clerk course required from a recognized school. Computer keyboarding skills. Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment. Have a flexible approach to work. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle lifting and carrying multiple charts/supplies and walking long distances. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A strong commitment to providing Patient and Family Centered Care is essential for this position. Preference will be given to candidates with previous unit clerk experience in a healthcare setting. Please note, this position is a multi-site position that will commence initially at the Cross Cancer Institute but will work at both the Cross Cancer Institute and the Vibe Clinic.
