Your Opportunity:

This position provides high-level, professional support to the Department of Psychiatry’s Residency Program. The incumbent will be responsible for communication, scheduling, document preparation, project coordination, meeting support, finance, academic programing coordination and onboarding of new residents to the program. They will also provide back-up support for the larger education team within Psychiatry. To function effectively in the role, the incumbent should have a comprehensive understanding of the operations of both Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine. Experience in the areas of medical education would be beneficial. The successful candidate will be proactive, self-directed, and able to work as part of a cohesive team. Sound judgement, tact, critical thinking, finance experience and above average Excel skills.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Equivalent experience of 3 years at an intermediate executive administrative level. Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management. Strong communication skills. Minimum intermediate competency in Microsoft Excel and Sharepoint Online. Previous experience with scheduling, minute taking, and creating agendas. Strong critical thinking skills and team attitude is a must. Previous experience coordinating events for symposiums or medical retreats is a strong asset. Previous experience with basic accounting, managing expenses and experience with U of C EFinance.
