Your Opportunity:

The position coordinates a variety of functions within the Volunteer Resources department to support the Vision, Mission and Business Plan of Alberta Health Services. Working under limited guidance the Coordinator provides leadership for assigned sites and is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating volunteer programs at these sites. The Coordinator provides direction to volunteers and temporary students (e.g. CNG, STEP) under his/her direct supervision. The Coordinator provides professional expertise in orientation, recognition, evaluation and administration of site-based volunteer programs and ensures consistent delivery of programs, policies and procedures. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Formal Education: Minimum essential education qualification of the job. Post secondary degree or diploma in Volunteer Program Administration or Human Resources Management. An equivalent combination of experience, education and training may be considered. Training in volunteer management and/or leadership development.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years' experience in a similar leadership role within a volunteer service environment in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity preferred. Personal experience as a volunteer required. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
