Administrative Support III - Cardiac Outpatient Clinics
Your Opportunity:
As an Administrative Support Clerk (ASC), you are responsible for managing patient throughput and scheduling demands within the CK Hui Heart Centre Cardiac Outpatient Clinics. You are often the first point of contact patients will experience during their care within our outpatient clinics; practicing and interacting with patients, families, and colleagues in accordance with RAH and AHS policy and procedures is required. Under limited supervision, duties include, but are not limited to; managing all workques and referrals and scheduling via Connect Care, performing ECG reconciliation within your scope of practice, providing information to patients over the phone regarding upcoming appointments/procedures, and supporting front-line clinicians with workload/workflow pressures. Performing clerical and receptionist duties for all outpatient clinics is also an expectation. This position will support all of the Cardiac outpatient clinic areas and the successful applicant will be scheduled and expected to float between various clinics to offer front-line relief support. The ASC is instrumental in facilitating confidential communication between nursing and other health disciplines, departments, patients and families. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in quality improvement initiatives; supporting and maintaining high quality patient care within the Cardiology program. Physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, lifting office/medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs, using repetitive motions, extensive computer use/typing and telephone use, lifting, bending, and reaching frequently. A requirement of the role is sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand and navigate various programs including Word, excel, outlook, and Connect Care.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistance program or Unit Clerk Certificate REQUIRED Basic Computer skills required (MS Word, Outlook, and Excel) Demonstrated ability to manage all five workques within Connect Care required Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize and work within a strict timeline. Demonstrated strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy required. Demonstrated reliability required. Must be able to cope with frequent interruptions and work within a busy and changing environment. Proof of Medical terminology course is required. Individual must be motivated, self-directed, and able to embrace change. Previous hospital/clinic experience as an Administrative Support Clerk or Unit Clerk is required.
Preferred Qualifications:One year current experience in a Unit Clerk or AS3 clerk position preferred Connect Care familiarity an asset; specifically, the Ambulatory Unit Clerk role
