This Administrative Support IV position serves as the primary intake point for all external phone calls to the department. This role manages a high volume of varied and often complex requests, requiring strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and professionalism to maintain service standards. Responsibilities include triaging requests, screening and directing patients to the appropriate care providers, and coordinating appointment scheduling changes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to ensure timely, accurate, and patient-centered service.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Graduation from a recognized Unit Clerk or Medical Office Administrative program Proven ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast pace, consistently changing environment. Demonstrated ability to independently and collaboratively. Ability to perform light to medium physical tasks, including lifting and transporting supplies. Capacity for prolonged standing and walking, as required. Experience with Connect Care is an asset. Ability to manage and participate in difficult or sensitive conversations. Ability to manage a high volume of telephone calls in a professional and efficient manner. Preference given to candidates with prior Oncology Unit clerk experience in a healthcare setting.
