Administrative Support III
Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Manager of the Calgary Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Clinic, the Administrative Support III, is responsible to provide reception, clerical, and office duties to support the STI Clinic and Partner Notification Nurses. High client volumes and multiple demands in this role require strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily workload. Effective, sensitive communication is a continuous demand of this position. This position processes a high volume of public and client inquiries and is the initial point of contact for all services offered at the STI Clinic. This role requires flexibility and the ability to troubleshoot and independently problem-solve on a daily basis a variety of issues related to ordering and receiving supplies, invoicing, data entry, callers, couriers, and mail delivery systems. Accuracy and efficiency are necessary for this role as data entered in the STI database provide the information necessary for reporting locally, provincially, and nationally (surveillance system). Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum one year experience within the last three (3) years working as an Administrative Support III or IV in a healthcare setting, specifically in a clinical setting working directly with patients. Computer proficiency with complex programs and databases. Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Experience working with health professionals & the public.
Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary courses related to office or clerical work. Minimum one year experience within the past three (3) years in an STI Clinic or sexual health setting. Post-secondary courses related to healthcare, databases, and/or computers would be an asset. Knowledge of sexually transmitted infections & blood-borne pathogens. Experience with high volumes of data entry, databases, working with laboratory reports & medical forms. Experience & knowledge of Indigenous communities & harm reduction.
