Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to clearly speak, read, write and understand English. Must be well organized and attentive to detail. Professionalism and customer service are essential in dealing with patients/residents, food service colleagues, other departments, and the public. Demonstration of critical thinking skills and confidence to make decisions are important in ensuring patient safety. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in basic mathematical skills to support accurate tallies and calculations. Ability to type on a standard computer keyboard and operate a computer mouse essential. Minimum standard for typing is 35 words per minute (wpm). Basic file management, document and email skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference given to those with post-secondary administrative assistant/clerical education or education in a related field. Preference given to those with knowledge of medical and dietetic terminology, CBORD, Formula Calculator and Epic. Previous food service experience in a healthcare environment and familiarity with diet restrictions are preferred. Computer and clerical experience in an office environment preferred.
