Completion of a bachelor's degree in Addictions or a combination of a bachelor's degree in a related field with course work in addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma related to addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act must maintain active registration. Individuals may require authorization under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions.
Additional Qualifications:- A Bachelor's Degree in Addictions or a combination of the Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline with course work in Addictions is required. - Prior individual and group counseling experience is required. - All applicants eligible for registration with a professional regulatory body must have an active registration. - A minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with addiction and mental health concerns in a community setting is required. - Prior individual and group counseling experience is required. - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP), Non-violent Crisis Intervention, and Suicide Intervention training are pre-requisites for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. - Knowledge of trauma informed care is an asset. - Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support - Good knowledge of community resources is an asset. - The successful candidate will have well-developed counselling approaches, including Motivational Interviewing and have a strong understanding of the Transtheoretical Model of Change. - Need to have experience working with the adult population, be a contributing memb
