Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Physically capable to walk and/or stand for the duration of your shift, and perform repetitive physical movements.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years' experience performing Environmental Services-related duties in a hospital or institution is required. Comprehensive knowledge relating to all aspects of assigned responsibilities, department policies, procedures and standards is required. Extensive knowledge of floor care restoration, cleaning equipment and tools, including their uses, basic maintenance and troubleshooting is required. Previous knowledge and application of WHMIS is required. Basic knowledge of computer programs such as MS Word, Excel and email is required. The successful applicant must be self-motivated and able to work cooperatively with others. Must be able to work with minimal supervision while effectively directing staff. Must have the ability to organize workloads and ensure duties are completed in a timely manner. Composure and the ability to make decisions in emergency situations are essential. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, understand, follow and give written and oral directions in English. All new employees will be required to attend a 4-day Environmental Services Orientation and a 1-day AHS Orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who have a Supervisory/Management Certificate and/or related experience.
