Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Physically capable to walk and/or stand for the duration of your shift, and perform repetitive physical movements.
Additional Required Qualifications:A High School Diploma is required. A minimum of (five) 5 years’ experience performing Environmental Services-related duties in a hospital or institution is required. Comprehensive knowledge relating to all aspects of assigned responsibilities, department policies, procedures, and standards is required. Extensive knowledge of floor care restoration, cleaning equipment, and tools, including their uses, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting is required. Previous knowledge and application of WHMIS is required. Basic knowledge of computer programs such as MS Word, Excel and e-mail is required. Employment references will indicate an excellent attendance record and reliability, self-motivation and initiative, respect for privacy and confidentiality, ability to work as a team player, a demonstrated ability to establish good working relations with superiors and fellow staff members, open-mindedness, composure, and the ability to make decisions in emergency situations. Must be able to work with minimal supervision while effectively directing staff. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, understand, follow, and give written directions in English.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who have a Supervisory/Management Certificate and/or related experience. Previous housekeeping experience preferably in a healthcare setting. Experience in an industrial laundry preferable.
