Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification from a recognized sterile processing course is required, as well as a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in the MDRD is required. Preference shall be given to candidates with previous Clinical Assistant experience. Knowledge and experience with the WHMIS Program is required. The successful applicant will be required to have extensive knowledge of all instrumentation and relevant set ups. Preference shall be given to candidates with experience and a proven track record of competency working within their field at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Advanced Window based systems and SPM computer skills are required. Must be able to read, write and understand English well. Due to the nature of the duties, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to provide education on the latest equipment received and any updates on existing equipment within the MDR and be able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment that has shifting daily priorities.
