Located preferably in Edmonton and reporting directly to the President and CEO of Alberta Health Services, the Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the strategic and operational direction, delivery and evaluation of the corporate services function for Alberta Health Services, including: Finance; Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management; Capital Management; and Organizational Planning and Performance functions. This position will assume oversight for the development of Alberta Health Services’ Strategic Plan, the establishment of short and long-term financial priorities for the organization, including AHS’ budget, the establishment of Corporate Services Operational Plans and the establishment of an integrated framework of goals and measurements consistent with and supportive of operations.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be seen as a provincial and national leader in the delivery of public sector corporate services. They will have a professional accounting designation and a graduate degree in business, management, finance, accounting, health administration or a related area. They will have experience from a variety of industries in the public or private sector, and a track record of managing the finance function in very large, complex organizations with revenues in excess of $1 billion. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in leading a large and complex procurement function and experience in anticipating risk and developing risk mitigation strategies. This individual will promote a strong collaborative team approach with the executive team and an environment that fosters quality improvement and a culture of safety for staff and patients.
