The Labour and Delivery and Pediatrics units at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray have a rare opportunity for an individual to provide guidance as a Unit Manger. The teams are looking for a manager who can support them in their continued growth to provide exceptional patient and family centred care. You can develop teams dedicated to the health and wellness of the patient and support to the loved ones through their journey to recovery. You desire to create a positive work environment and a space of healing. In your planning, you can foresee the needs of the units as you work to optimize the resources. Your communications skills are used to build and foster relationships with the multidisciplinary team, key stakeholders, volunteers, staff, patients, and families. You guide and mentor the staff in evidence-based practices and the AHS Values in their daily task and the care provided. Description:
The Manager will lead in the delivery of effective and efficient operation of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-focused care for their assigned unit, program area(s) and staff complement. Your leadership, direction and organization of the unit will be to support the vision, mission, and business plan of AHS. The Manager has direct accountability for their assigned unit, the clinical operations employees working within their identified program area(s), and the corresponding programmatic requirements of the role. In conjunction with the Director, the Manager is responsible for setting and executing strategic and operational priorities for the unit. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective framework for the operations of patient care services to facilitate the delivery of efficient, effective, and safe patient care. Additionally, the Manager will guide a setting and execute strategic and operational priorities related to their staff complement, including recruitment, orientation, and professional development. The manager will coach staff and carry out discipline when required. You will ensure the effective deployment of resources, support change management, and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement. The manager provides leadership through demonstrated consistency of practice, competence as a leader, as well as commitment to the team, and to the overall purpose and vision of the portfolio, and the organization.

Minimum three (3) years’ experience with demonstrated clinical competence and knowledge of specialty areas (Maternity & Pediatrics). Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a formal supervisory/management role. Demonstrated Pattern of personal/professional growth.

Formal Leadership experience. Masters. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Meditech, etc.). Connect Care knowledge.
