Required Qualifications:

Current registration with the Colleges of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required. Current CPR (BCLS-HCP). Completion of a perioperative nursing course/certificate. Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) certification in Perioperative Nursing. Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology experience. Minimum of 2-3 years of current operating room experience associated with leadership experience as a Charge nurse or an Assistant Head Nurse in a high acuity OR. Strong organizational and leadership skills are required and should include a demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, and the ability to build confidence in others. Ability to manage in a highly organized and rapidly moving environment. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Ability to demonstrate communication skills that promote respect and a positive team environment. Demonstrates advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. A strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the eternal and external stakeholders is necessary.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Effective teamwork, conflict resolution, change and resource management skills are essential. The incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills including experience in Microsoft Outlook, Office, and email.


Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a Perioperative Nursing course/certificate. Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) certification in perioperative nursing. Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology experience.
