Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to patient and family-centered care with the ability to build meaningful partnerships. Knowledge of ChildKind principles and evidence-informed pediatric pain prevention, assessment, and management practices is required. The ideal candidate has experience leading patient safety, quality improvement, and harm-reduction initiatives, with the ability to foster a culture aligned with Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) through transparency, accountability, continuous learning, and high reliability. Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and change management skills are essential, along with a demonstrated commitment to staff engagement, professional development, and psychological safety. The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary pediatric environment and build strong partnerships with physicians, nursing, allied health, and operational leaders. Operational, financial, and human resource management experience, including workforce planning, performance management, resource management, and change leadership in a complex healthcare setting. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related health discipline, along with current professional registration

Additional Required Qualifications:

Active CARNA registration. Strong management/leadership experience required. Must have a strong understanding of the operational flow within the Stollery Children’s hospital. Strong organizational, problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills are required. Demonstrated ability to establish and manage interpersonal relationships. Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing demands of the unit.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous leadership experience in acute care, preferably within pediatrics, trauma, or surgical services, is preferred. Graduate education in leadership, healthcare administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
