The Unit Manager is accountable and responsible for the effective and efficient operation of an assigned unit or patient care area within a specific program including the management of human, material and financial resources. The Unit Manager’s primary role is to support optimum patient care and unit operations through monitoring and organizing the workflow and delivery of patient care in the unit including daily staffing schedules, patient assignment and classification. The functions and responsibilities of the position are executed within the context of the unit goals. The Unit Manager is expected to provide leadership in providing quality patient care. Essential to this leadership role is the use of effective communication skills with the Patient Care Manager, other Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators, Nurse Practitioners, staff and other department representatives.
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred. Previous Management or Formal Leadership is preferred. Minimum 1 to 2 years of Neuroscience experience preferred. Minimum 2 years of Charge Nurse Experience preferred. Experience with change management is preferred.
