Current registration with the Colleges & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required. Current CPR (BCLS-HCP). Minimum of 2 - 3 years current operating room experience associated with leadership experience as a Charge Nurse or an Assistant Head Nurse in a high acuity OR. Strong organizational and leadership skills are required and should include a demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to build confidence in others. Ability to manage in a highly organized and rapidly moving environment. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. A strong track record in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is necessary. Effective teamwork, conflict resolution, change and resource management skills are essential, incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills including experience in Microsoft Outlook, Office and email.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a Peri-operative nursing course/ certificate. Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Certification in Peri-operative Nursing.
