Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing required. Current CARNA/CRPNA registration required. Minimum 5 years acute mental health experience required. Demonstrated analytical, organizational, planning, teaching, decision making and financial management skills required. Demonstrated leadership or clinical supervision of health care professionals required. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in dynamic situations required. Demonstrated conflict resolution and change agent skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge and understanding of the Addiction and Mental Health continuum of care required. Knowledge of a variety of addiction and mental health treatment modalities and evidence-based psychosocial interventions, including group therapy, required. Knowledge of community resources for Addictions and Mental Health required. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and complete work in a timely manner. Ability to adapt to a continuously changing and evolving work environment.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will demonstrate: strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and manage short term and long term initiatives, plans and projects. Ability to foster partnerships, facilitating and tactfully negotiating change through creative and innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage a complex multidisciplinary department with multiple goals and initiatives. Ability to achieve organizational goals and to manage human, financial and physical resources within a unionized operating environment. An understanding of the inter-dependencies within the entire health care system, Addiction and Mental Health portfolio and educational institutions.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in staff scheduling (ESP program) is an asset. Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education essential. Community Mental Health experience an asset.
