Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completed of a Unit Clerk post-secondary certificate program required. Equivalencies in education may be considered. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to be self-directed, motivated and exercise independent decision making and problem solving skills. Basic computer skills and proficiency in the following computer applications: MS Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Internet. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact collaboratively and to maintain effective and respectful working relationships in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to exercise judgment, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues and patient information. Compliance with the AHS Hand Hygiene policies.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3 years experience as a Unit Clerk in an acute care setting preferred. Renal experience preferred. Experience using and knowledge of the following applications: Netcare, Clinibase, OACCS, Renal PARIS, SCM, ESP Scheduling, payroll and ALTRA preferred.
