We are seeking a dedicated and outgoing individual to join our team as a Unit Clerk at Vermilion Long Term Care, a cottage-style facility offering 48 private beds. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the unit by ensuring the efficient flow of communication between healthcare professionals, departments, residents, and families. You will be the first point of contact for many, responsible for greeting and directing visitors, managing incoming calls, and maintaining a warm and professional environment. This role requires a highly organized individual who can confidently manage multiple administrative responsibilities while maintaining strict confidentiality of resident information. Key responsibilities include maintaining resident records and charts, coordinating scheduling activities, supporting payroll processes, and completing a variety of administrative tasks essential to the smooth functioning of the unit. You will work closely with the manager and interdisciplinary team, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care. The ideal candidate is personable, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interruptions. Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interruptions. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, multitask efficiently, and meet deadlines. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years of experience working in a Health Care environment and unionized workforce. Scheduling experience.
