Your Opportunity:

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the individual will be responsible for assisting with the operational needs in the Critical Care Program, Edmonton Firefighters' Burn Treatment Unit at the UAH. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficit occurs.

Description:

As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Medical Office Administration certificate or equivalent Unit Clerk course. Prioritization, organization, and time management skills. Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
