An exciting opportunity to learn and grow on an acute general medicine unit with a diverse population of patients. Unit 57 practices a CoAct-Collaborative Care model in which care hubs include teams of an LPN, RN and HCA. Description:

As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of acute care experience within the last 3 years is required. Proven ability to manage the workflow of a high‑volume unit, including coordinating multiple admissions, discharges, tests, and procedures. Must be able to effectively manage, redirect, and de-escalate confused or agitated patients in a calm and professional manner. Strong ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands such as call bells, phone calls, and urgent patient needs, while maintaining thoughtfulness and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with WFM an asset.
