Join the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre team as a Unit Clerk and play a vital role in managing information flow and supporting hospital staff and physicians. You will be the glue for the team in the unit as you practice the AHS CARES values working with the multidisciplinary team. Your strong computer skills are used to coordinate patient tests and treatments, and manage admissions, discharges, and transportation. Detail to accuracy and timelines is required as you ensure all paperwork is complete. Additionally, you’ll greet visitors, handle calls, and facilitate communication within the unit. Clerical duties include distributing and filing documents, processing healthcare billings, scheduling staff, managing payroll, and requisitioning supplies. Strong ability to pivot from task to task, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Healthcare experience is a plus but not required. Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Preferred Qualifications:The successful completion of a recognized course in medical terminology. Experience in a high acuity medical setting is preferred. Relevant experience will also be considered. Connect Care training, previous Unit Clerk experience.
