Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience working in a hospital setting. Ability to work in a team environment. Computer literacy – Excel, Word, Connect Care, I-request. Experience with supply ordering, maintenance, appointment and transportation booking. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Handling confidential information with discretion. Knowledge of hospital protocols and procedures. Ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads and work conditions. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask are all required to be successful with this role.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care training and experience preferred. Connect Care Super User and Downtime Captain experience is an asset. I-request and E-Facilities experience preferred. Experience with CoACT is preferred.
