Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Unit Clerk certificate and Medical Terminology from a recognized post-secondary institution. Current CPR (BCLS-HCP). Excellent computer skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, e-People and Internet Explorer, Connect Care. Current Unit Clerk experience in a surgery program required minimum 1 year. Current Unit Clerk experience within a Preadmission/Day Surgery/Same Day Surgery unit. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated reliability and dependability. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. Able to recognize and maintain confidential information. Courteous and pleasant manner with patients, families and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to experience in Ambulatory clinic setting. Connect care experience. Combination of equivalent experience and education will be considered.
