Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:A one-year Unit Clerk certificate with practicum component from a recognized post-secondary institution is required. Unit Clerk experience in a hospital setting. Successfully completed a recognized course in medical terminology is necessary. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential. Experience in a hospital/patient related setting. Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite. Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to prioritize work/multi-task and effectively cope with frequent interruptions, noise and other distractions. Command of the English language (both spoken and written) is required. Incumbent must display professionalism and respect at all times, and be able to maintain confidentiality of medical and personal information. Acute care experience required. Relevant experience will also be considered.
