Your Opportunity:

The Town of High River, located 67km south of Calgary, has a population of 12,920. High River has a friendly, safe, and small town lifestyle while also benefiting from the close proximity to big-city amenities. Alberta Health Services operates three facilities in the town. The High River Hospital provides healthcare services including cancer care and a 24/7 emergency department. The Public Health Centre and the Mental Health Building also provide a wide range of services for families in the community. At the High River Hospital, the culture and camaraderie of our small and close-knit clinical team is not easily replicated in a larger site. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Experience working in an acute care environment. Experience with OR Manager, Clinibase, Millennium, EndoPro, MARS, MUSE, Excel programs.
