Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of five years facility based nursing experience including geriatric experience (obtained within the last three years) is required. A minimum of two years experience within the community is required. Experience in home care, supportive living or facility living is required. Effective time management and prioritization skills are required. Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Pathways, RAI Tools, Meditech and e-People is preferred and an asset. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive assessments to individuals within their physical and social environments is required. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, fluctuating priorities, and time sensitive deadlines. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, or standing as well as repetitive movements. Must be able to lift and carry 10-15kg regularly. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (ie: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, walking distances).
