Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Therapeutic Recreation Assistant or equivalent Diploma/Certification from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent experience required. Preferably 3 years’ experience working in a Therapeutic Recreation position with seniors and/or individuals with challenges. Preferably 1 year experience in a community Therapeutic Recreation program under the direction of a Recreation Therapist. Alberta Leadership and Fitness Certification with a specialty in Fitness for the Older Adult will be an advantage due to the individual and group exercises provided in our 12 week falls prevention program. Valid BCLS-HCP certificate required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Able to accept verbal and written instructions. Able to work with minimal supervision. Professional and courteous manner.
