Villa Caritas is the only stand-alone acute geriatric psychiatry hospital in Canada. This 150-bed hospital serves individuals living with dementia of all stages, other psychiatric illnesses such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders and thought disorders, complex psychosocial needs and other medical comorbidities. The program promotes a patient-centered approach and includes a variety of individual and groups programs that focus on optimizing functioning, independence, and quality of life. The comprehensive multidisciplinary team works together to treat the whole person: body, mind and soul.
Description:
Description: The Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of therapeutic rehabilitation programs. The Therapy Assistant participates in assessment related activities as well as the planning and development of client programs which includes leading individual or group treatment and educational interventions. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: A directly related diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in acute care. Experience working with the geriatric mental health population.
