Your Opportunity:
The Adult Day Program Activities Convenor is working under the clinical direction and supervision of a Recreation Therapist II. The Activities Convenor plays a key role in planning and leading daily activities for adults day programs serving seniors with chronic and complex health needs. This position ensures that all activities align with the Comprehensive Adult Day Program Best Practices Model by promoting engagement, wellness and quality of life for clients. The role will be providing life enrichment activities Adult Day Program to meet their social emotional and social needs and providing caregivers respite.
Description:
As a Therapy Aide, you will be working both independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team where you will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of rehabilitation services. Your role may include administrative duties such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendances, equipment inventory and preparing/cleaning the treatment area. Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote patient (client, resident) healthy living, self-care independence and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. You may assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the context of the therapy program.
