The Peter Lougheed Centre is offering this opportunity for a Full Time Temperature Control Mechanic / HVAC. The Temperature Control Mechanic / HVAC is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and optimization of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and temperature control systems within the facility. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical systems in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards, codes, and best practices, with a strong emphasis on critical healthcare environments.
Description:
As a Temperature Control Mechanic/HVAC, you may perform maintenance, repair, alteration and installation of HVAC control devices, system configurations and air balancing.

Completion of a post-secondary education in a related trade or technology program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Seasoned/specialized technical/professional experience required (i.e. 5-7 years). Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance, programming, repair, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of BMS systems, instrumentation and control systems related to HVAC systems in industrial or institutional facilities. Testing, calibration and repair of instrumentation, controls and associated systems. Programming and calibrating computerized control systems including BMS, PCM and PLC. Troubleshooting and analytical skills related to instrumentation and associated systems. Understanding of building mechanical, HVAC, electrical systems and equipment and associated instrumentation and controls. Familiar with basic air quality analysis procedures and air balancing. Familiar with working in healthcare facility. Competent computer skills. Writing reports. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment and self-motivated. Must be able to lift 22kg (50lbs). Must be able to wear a N95 or be half mask fit tested.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years' experience in a hospital environment. Experience commissioning large and complex building systems is considered an asset. Experience reviewing design drawing and specifications considered an asset. Familiar with Infection Prevention and Control guidelines.
