Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Must successfully attain and maintain appointment as a Community Peace Officer I by the Alberta Solicitor General. Successful candidate must have successfully completed the P.A.R.E. within the previous 6 months. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a security role. Ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Public speaking capabilities. Proven multi-tasking and effective decision making abilities in a fast paced, stressful environment. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.


Preferred Qualifications:

2 years Post-Secondary preferred. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Healthcare experience an asset.
