A degree from an accredited college or University in Human Resources or related discipline. 5 years of progressive HR experience in an organization of significant size and complexity with at least 3 years of that experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity with employees directly reporting to you. Technical experience administering complex HR and LOA rules and processes, in a large multi-union organization. Prior experience with HR Information Systems, preferably PeopleSoft, is required. Proficient in using Excel to collate data, perform analysis, generate metrics and create template. Capable of interpreting policies and plan documents to make decisions and recommendations. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to assess performance and provide ongoing development. Confident and comfortable completing performance appraisals and having performance conversations. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Effective verbal and written communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing responsive, quality services. Proven ability to foster partnerships/build solid relationships to achieve organizational goals within a diverse organization. Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and resolution skills. Ability to build and sustain trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders. Able to manage and lead a team to deliver on quality, accuracy and sustainable targets aligned with organizational operational priorities. Requires an in-depth knowledge of performance metrics. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation and build solid relationships within the team as well as other stakeholders, to create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) considered an asset. Expertise in public sector HR administration, project management, business process improvement, or quality assurance is preferred.
