The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in AHS’ Protective Service or possess at least 5 years of experience in Hospital Security, Public Security or Law Enforcement with a minimum of 2 of them as a supervisor. Consideration will be given to articulable experience as an Acting Team Leader, a willingness to pursue a leadership role, a proven record of development within the department will be considered on a case by case basis. Applicants will possess a minimum of 2 years Post Secondary Diploma in a related discipline with a preference toward law enforcement. The position requires a valid class 5 non GDL license with a drivers abstract found acceptable to AHS fleet management.
Additional Required Qualifications:Eligibility to immediately attend the Solicitor General’s College for the Community Peace Officer Induction Program by being without past history which could prevent appointment as a Peace Officer. A PARE test time of 4:45 or less is required or be a currently serving PSOII within AHS’ Protective Service who is a CPOIP graduate. Recent Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable (CRC/VSQ) Sector possession and Peace Officer Appointment eligibility are non-negotiable. Brief allowances at time of interview for pending PARE times or CRC/VSQ processing times will be considered on a case by case basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Post-Secondary Education in excess of minimum with a focus in Policing or Criminology. Valid Emergency Medical Responder certification. Valid ICS-100 and 200 training for emergency response management is an asset. Valid Non Violent Crisis Intervention certificate. Past or current certification in training area such as First Aid, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, Verbal Judo, PPCT is an asset.
