Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized Practical Nursing education program (diploma or certificate in Practical Nursing). Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) and Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required. Minimum of 5 years LPN experience. Knowledge of nursing practice and standards. Excellent organizational skills and time management. Demonstrated and effective communication and mentoring skills in a team setting. Ability to actively participate in a collaborative approach to meeting health goals. Driver's Abstract to be completed by AHS with no GDL restrictions and vehicle for travel is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Out of Scope position requires performance management and supervision of HCAs. Although the majority of the work is done in an office setting, the Team Lead is also responsible to enter clients' homes to mentor and delegate procedures for Health Care Aides. This could increase the likelihood of ergonomic or physical exertion, so candidate must be physically able to meet the requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 yrs. experience in Acute Care or Senior’s Health (Home Care and/or Long Term Care) preferred. Performance management, supervisory skills and experience an asset. Familiarity with computer applications; Internet, Microsoft Office, Meditech training an asset.
