Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grader 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Medical Terminology course from a recognized training program. Minimum one (1) year experience within the last 2 years in a hospital switchboard/call center. Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm. Excellent telephone skills. Critical thinking skills. Verbal and written English communication skills. Proficient with computer systems, including MS Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent multitasking ability and able to work within a multi-disciplinary team with constant interruptions and changing work demands. Flexibility when dealing with changes in priorities. Problem solving skills. Decision making skills. Organization skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in the Calgary Zone Central Switchboard Department. Experience working with the public. Experience with Avaya Telephone equipment. Experience with Motorola Paging equipment.
