Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) certification or Central Service Association (CSA) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 education or equivalent. Completion of a certificate program in Sterile Processing (includes a minimum of 300 hours of practicum experience in a sterile processing department) from a recognized post-secondary institution required. Follows Standard Precautions; practices these principles in the cleaning and disinfection of all reusable items. Practice and understands the principles of aseptic technique and the prevention of nosocomial infection in the process of decontamination, assembly and sterilization of instruments and equipment. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing is essential. Basic computer user skills are required. Must be able to walk significant distances, stand, lift, and transfer surgical equipment and carts during majority of shift.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Steris Equipment and Sterrad 100NX and SPM preferred. Leadership experience preferred.
