Education: Certified Registered Central Services Technician required. Successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing educational program required. (The educational program should include courses related to the following: Quality Systems, Infection Prevention and Control, basic microbiology, Occupational Health and Safety, Decontamination Processes, High Level Disinfection, Assembly, Sterilization of Medical Devices, Storage, Transportation and Distribution, and Flexible Endoscopes). Registration: Active registration with an appropriate clinical professional licensing body.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience: Must have complete working knowledge of procedures and standards governing the work performed by MDR, including MDR and CSA Sterilization Standards. Must be knowledgeable in aseptic techniques, IPC issues and MDR equipment. Skills: Ability to plan and implement service changes and enhancements. Ability to use electronic devices, and have good working knowledge of various computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn new technology systems. Ability to respond to customer needs. Ability to interact effectively as a liaison with vendors and user areas. Ability to effectively give presentations to professional and sterile processing staff. Ability to effectively function under stress. Competencies: Evidence of excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, interpersonal communication, problem solving, judgment and report-writing skills. Evidence of integrity, dependability, honesty, initiative, tact and high ethical standards to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in management in a Medical Device Reprocessing environment or related field. Experience with financial monitoring and control; supply management; workload delegation; quality control and staffing.
