Supervisor - Business Standards and Operations Support
Your Opportunity:
The Supervisor, Business Standards and Operations Support (BSOS), provides leadership and support to a dynamic team consisting of Fleet and Equipment Coordinators, the Vehicle, Equipment, Supply, Service Technician (VESST) Team, and the Ambulance Readiness Attendant (ARA) Team. This critical work, essential for supporting front-line Clinical Operations, involves recruiting and retaining enthusiastic and engaged employees while managing day-to-day operations and implementing long-term Human Resource initiatives and strategies. Additionally, it includes creating and maintaining a positive workplace by leading through example, which encompasses coaching and mentoring both teams and individual employees. As the Supervisor, you will ensure that the zone fleet, comprising around 250 EMS emergency and non-emergency vehicles, is maintained according to legal requirements and is repaired and serviced following established processes by approved vendors. You will oversee the repair and maintenance of equipment, ensuring that all work is carried out according to established processes and procedures. The key responsibilities encompass Human Resource Management, which includes support for workplace health and safety, as well as leadership within the operational area through coaching and mentoring. Additionally, the role involves managing financial and physical assets, along with overseeing organizational risk management.
Description:
The Supervisor will conduct annual Performance Conversations to discuss employee performance, development, retention strategies, and necessary organizational learning. Collaborating with the assigned HRBP and Talent Acquisition, you will manage vacancies and execute recruitment activities while maintaining job descriptions. The Supervisor will provide direction, leadership, and support to all direct reports within the zone Fleet and Equipment portfolio while overseeing EMS Fleet optimization and utilization objectives. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, is also a key responsibility, as is assisting EMS Facilities as a key stakeholder in the Fleet and Equipment portfolio. You will also be responsible for approving fleet repairs, ensuring proper coding and approval. Additionally, you will provide oversight and management of warehouse operations and BSOS allocated spaces.

Completion of an accredited EMS program or equivalent paramedicine related program. Minimum 3 years of EMS specific fleet and equipment experience OR 5 years’ EMS leadership/supervisory experience. Alberta driver’s license with no more than 6 demerits.

Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an undergraduate degree. Demonstrated pattern of ongoing professional and personal development. Demonstrated experience with fleet management software (Holman Insights, Geotab, and FEMS).
