Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for providing daily direction, leadership and organization over the activities of EHS operations in support of the vision and mission of EHS. This dynamic position requires skill in leadership, communication, operational management, strategy, and engagement to achieve organizational goals while fostering a supportive environment for our front-line healthcare workers. The Supervisor cultivates a supportive and empowering culture by providing direction, coaching, and mentorship to frontline EHS providers, inspiring teams to deliver exceptional patient care and achieve operational excellence, promoting collaboration, trust, and continuous growth. Strong communication skills are essential to build connections between staff and leadership, facilitating open, transparent, and consistent communication to ensure that every team member feels informed, valued, and empowered to contribute to a shared vision of success. The Supervisor leads daily EHS operations with a focus on empowering teams to deliver exceptional service. This includes effectively managing resources and performance, guiding incident responses, and upholding safety and quality standards to create a supportive and well-coordinated environment where staff can excel in their roles. The role champions a forward-thinking approach by implementing innovative practices and driving quality improvement initiatives, inspiring teams to align their efforts with zone and provincial objectives. This role is critical to building meaningful and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, including health professionals and first responder agencies. The Supervisor promotes a culture of partnership and mutual respect, working to achieve shared goals and enhance the impact of EHS services within the community.

Graduate of a Paramedic program recognized by the Alberta College of Paramedics. Currently registered in good standing or ability to register with the Alberta College of Paramedics. Minimum of three years’ experience in an emergency services role with a minimum of two years progressive leadership experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Valid Alberta Class 4 Operators License with no more than 6 demerits.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrates a deep understanding and practical application of leadership principles, with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate diverse teams, fostering collaboration, trust and continuous growth. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution, and active listening abilities, enabling clear, transparent, and empathetic interactions with staff and stakeholders. Skilled in strategic planning, quality improvement, and resource alignment, with a proactive approach to implementing innovative solutions and anticipating future challenges. Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain relationships, navigate labor relations, and resolve conflicts effectively, exhibiting diplomacy, integrity and accountability. Has comprehensive knowledge of EMS protocols, safety compliance and resource management, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex operational challenges effectively. Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in healthcare administration, management, business, or leadership. Demonstrated professional development in leadership or EHS operations. Proven ability to manage change and implement innovative solutions. Experience in unionized environments and fostering partnerships.
